Demo by Gigi Horr Liverant  - Sunday 7/12, 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM

Join us at the close of PPSCC's national juried show, "For Pastels Only", for a demo by acclaimed Connecticut-based artist and instructor, Gigi Horr Liverant!

Gigi's work is inspired by the familiar and ordinary moments that populate our daily landscape. In painting her visual memory response to such events, her goal is to engage the viewer to see an inconsequential scene with fresh vision. With her use of bold color and strong mark-making, she explores the optimal combination of color, line, shape and balance to provoke a new awareness of our environment.

Gigi has been the recipient of numerous awards and honors including First Prize Connecticut Women Artists, Best in Show Connecticut Pastel Society, the Andrew Giffuni Memorial Award at the Pastel Society of America Annual Exhibition in 2009 and the Diane Bernhardt Gold Medal Award at the PSA Annual Exhibition in 2000. She is a Pastel Society of America Master Pastelist (since 2000) and a Signature Member of the Connecticut Pastel Society. Liverant has also been awarded important national and regional commissions, including the Cow Parades in New York, West Hartford and Boston, the Whale Trail in Southeastern Connecticut and Rhode Island and murals at multiple locations of the Connecticut Savings Bank. Her paintings are included in the collection of the Lyman Allyn Museum, Connecticut College, Pfizer, Three Rivers Community-Technical College and the New Haven Paint and Clay Club, in addition to private and corporate collections nationally.

The society was founded on Cape Cod, and it is home base for our board, thats why we felt it was important to stick with our roots and incorporate the shape of Cape Cod into our new logo.

Logo Baseball Caps will be on sale at FPO.
