Debora L. Stewart is coming to South Shore Art Center in Cohasset, MA, for a three day workshop, July 22-24, 9:30-4:00: (Course #504) Creating Abstract Imagery in Pastel
Abstraction is a shift in focus. In realistic work we have a road map based on what we are looking at and it is in front of us. In abstraction we must tear ourselves away from what we see and it becomes another way of expression. It is an internal dialogue with our own personal frame of reference.
For more information on this workshop and to register, go to South Shore Art Center under "Visiting Artists".
PPSCC President Ed Chesnovitch will be teaching a one-day workshop, "Pastels with a Punch... The Power of a Notan!"
at the Falmouth Artists Guild on Saturday, March 12, 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM.
Notan is a Japanese term referring to the relationship or pattern of the dark and light in a composition. Creating a strong notan dramatically increases the likelihood of creating a strong composition. With a notan, you find the essence of your painting in the design. It’s also extremely useful in making a very complex subject more manageable. For a complete description of this workshop and to register, https://www.falmouthart.org.
Ed will also be teaching a 2 day workshop, "Experimental Pastel Master Class With Ed Chesnovitch" at the South Shore Art Center, April 30th & May 1st, Saturday and Sunday, 9:30-3:30 at the South Shore Art Center. For more information and to register, go to ssac.org
