David Kelley

David has been a serious artist for most of his life while working professionally as a graphic designer and illustrator. Despite a busy career, he continued to paint, experiment and enter juried exhibitions around the country as this activity was the background and creative source for his design work.

Despite all his experimenting, David only began working in pastels about five years ago and has seldom picked up a brush since. It has been a most productive period as his work won some nice awards in open juried shows at the Duxbury Art Association, Falmouth Art Center and the Cape Cod Art Association. He was also featured in articles in the Falmouth Enterprise, Falmouth Bulletin, Cape Cod Magazine and the Cape Cod Life Arts Edition (2011).

In 2008, David was selected as a "Signature Member" of the Pastel Painters Society of Cape Cod and had a drawing selected by Northlight Books, Strokes of Genius 2, the best of drawing.

February 2010 began with "Faces & Places," a month long exhibition of his work at the Maser Gallery in Falmouth.

David is Past President of the Falmouth Artists Guild and South Shore Art Center in Cohasset, and is a member of the Duxbury Art Association, the Pastel Painters Society of Cape Cod, the Bookbuilders of Boston and was the recent PR chairman and board member of the Falmouth Artists Guild.
