Reds Low in the Dunes
Pastel on primed colourfix
6" x 10 1/2"
The Provincelands of the outer cape have natural cranberry bogs. It feels like stepping back in time to discover these wild bogs among miles of dunes. These dark red shapes set down low against the pale dunes provide inspiring contrasts.

"Color is my primary motivation for painting. I combine this with my love of nature to depict landscapes. I strive to go beyond the mere depiction of the scene to reach a statement based on the specific color relationship that inspired me. My attitude toward my work is to always be a student: exploring new subjects, methods and media while remaining fresh for inspiration."
