"Living on Cape Cod gives me an endless supply of captivating sea and landscapes to paint.

"The fog has been a favorite subject of mine. I enjoy the challenge and the effect, of the trees, grasses and boats, struggling to be seen, they manage to peak out and disappear at he same time. This has taught me how to achieve the painterly quality I had been reaching for. My having a strong sculptural background has made this 2 dimensional journey that much more rewarding.

"On the other side of the spectrum is the intense light found on Cape Cod. The light seems to have a density which is unique to this area. The strong play of light and dark is very appealing to the sculptor in me.

"Commissioned pastel portraits are a large portion of the work I am producing lately. These portraits, whether of Pets, Children or Boats, are carried out with extreme precision and astounding detail, or in an impressionistic style, depending on the needs of the client."
